Although very little is know about these creatures, a lot of species appear on the ICUN Red List. Only one appears on the CITES list, the Laticauda crockeri, listed as vulnerable.
The areas are kept safe from predators by nets, but these nets do not stop the bivalves from spawning.
Not only are divers eroding the shoreline by entering and leaving the water, but also by grabbing and kicking coral reefs when under the water.
Adding CCTV and inspectors to every ship will put the fishermen under constant scrutiny and place strain on the workforce.
I could put this point forward to big businesses and funding councils but the fact of the matter is that there just isn’t enough public support.
