Many bird watchers will own a copy of the excellent Collins Bird Guide, but how many have actually read the introductory chapter? This course is aimed at anyone who watches birds but would like to improve their identification skills.
It is suitable for relative beginners as well as people with more advanced knowledge – whatever your skill level you will learn something new. We will look at the processes involved in identifying a bird – from the basics of correctly judging size and shape, to more advanced aspects such as understanding moult and how it can help with identification.
By looking afresh at common birds you should find a new delight in being able to age and sex them, and you might even be more likely to find a rarity. Please note that this course finishes at 3.00pm on Friday 18th August. Please contact us if you wish to stay an extra night.
