Geography and Fieldwork PGCE Weekend

This 3-day course is aimed at PGCE students, NQT geography teachers looking to increase their understanding of fieldwork and non-specialist geography teachers who may be having to plan fieldwork for the first time. The course will include: • The context in which fieldwork sits within GCSE and A level specifications • Practical advice on planning fieldwork in different environments • Advice on health and safety, risk assessment and group management in the field • Ideas for incorporating technology into your fieldwork including GIS.

The course will be led by trained Centre Staff who have a wide range of experiences delivering fieldwork, incorporating technology into learning outside the classroom, and leading groups in the Yorkshire Dales.
