Heathland Habitats for Wildlife & How to Manage them for Birds

This introductory course will provide an overview of heathland as a habitat and its value for wildlife.  We will further focus on the ‘Big Three’ heathland bird species – the Dartford Warbler, Nightjars and the Woodlark. We will then detail how our heathland is managed for these species.

After the classroom session we will explore the surrounding heathland habitat looking at the management techniques on the ground. We will identify the birds that we see as we visit the site.

You should expect to enjoy an afternoon walk on uneven ground.  Please contact us for more details should you question the level of fitness required.
