Identifying Trees Without Leaf in Epping Forest

This course will be a practical-based look at a difficult subject; how to identify trees without leaves in winter. The day aims to enable participants to identify the main native and naturalised broad-leaved trees and shrubs found in the Epping Forest area. It will focus on identification from bark, twigs, buds, seeds and fruit of the trees.

The course runs from 09.30 to 17.00. The price includes lunch at a local public house and a free FSC AIDGAP; A Guide to the Identification of Deciduous Broad-leaved Trees and Shrubs in Winter. As transport is required to the field sites, carpooling will be arranged on the day.
