Introduction to Reptiles and Amphibians

We will spend some time in the classroom learning reptile and amphibian ID features then, subject to weather, search habitats including refugia and ponds on site for reptiles and amphibians to practice surveying and identification. The main aims for this course are:

  • To acquire and practise identification skills.
  • To explore reptile and amphibian habitats and examine key habitat features.
  • To learn about behaviour and ecology of these animals to help locate them in the field.

This course is run in partnership with Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust.
