Monitoring and Surveying for Conservation

Monitoring and Surveying for Conservation is a practical, vocational course focusing on techniques for surveying and monitoring selected groups of animals and plants for the analysis of habitat and communities, including Phase 1 and 2 surveys and the National Vegetation Classification. Day topics are likely to include: freshwater quality monitoring, bird census techniques, mammal trapping. The emphasis will be on evaluating the methodologies and examining the implications of site monitoring and surveying thus helping to improve the understanding for all currently involved or wishing to be employed in site management for conservation.

Centre Staff will lead a team of Associate Tutors selected for their experience and skills as professional consultants across a range of ecological fields.
