Wildlife Gardening in Autumn & Winter

Putting the garden to bed for winter while helping wildlife, basic gardening tasks for autumn and winter.

You will spend the morning with your tutor identifying gardening jobs for this time of year. Discover what garden wildlife is doing at this time of year and how to put measures in place to help them survive the colder wetter months.

You will learn:

  • What gardening tasks can be done in autumn and winter.
  • What garden wildlife will be doing at this time of year.
  • What to plant and how to care for plants at this time of year.
  • This course will take place mostly indoors with a visit to Testwood Lakes Dry Garden and pond.

As a bonus you will also receive a Wildlife Gardening Information Pack (normal price £5) for free.

This course is designed for beginners and improvers, it is an ideal course for anyone wanting to learn how to garden wildlife-friendly sustainable way.

Friday 12 October 2018 – 10:30am to 1pm

Meet at Testwood Lakes Education Centre, Totton, Southampton.

What do I need to bring?

Essential:

Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather on the day.

Notebook and pen or pencil.

Reading glasses if you need them.
