Track and Sign – Ancisnt Skills that can transform Modern Mammal Recording

Virtual Meet Ups (VMUs)

These Virtual Meet Ups are an opportunity to keep in touch and share skills and knowledge during lockdown. They are short natural history webinars, comprising of a 30-50 minute talk followed by a question and answer session. We host them on Zoom, we will send out joining instructions on the day of the event.

Track and Sign – Ancient Skills that can Transform Modern Mammal Recording (VMU)

Bob Cowley will be joining us in this VMU. As well as being Chair of Oxfordshire Mammal Group, Bob Cowley is certified at Level 3 in Track & Sign by CyberTracker (the organisation for International Tracker Certification).

Why are mammals so under-recorded? Because they’re very good at not being seen! But you don’t need to see the animals themselves, if you can recognise the Tracks & Signs they leave behind. Bob will provide a quick overview of this endlessly fascinating topic. And along the way, he will teach you a number of skills that you can apply straight away – enriching your understanding of the world around you.
