Somerset Wildlife Trust is a local independent charity and the only organisation uniquely focused on improvingthe natural environment of Somerset for the benefit of wildlife and people. We champion Somerset’s stunning,diverse, and important natural environment, making the case for nature to the public and politicians. We protectwildlife and lead the recovery of the environment by example, including on our nature reserves.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new full-time Assistant Reserves Manager to join our Avalon Marshes team.

The Avalon Marshes in Somerset is home to internationally important wetland habitats, managed by Somerset Wildlife Trust and our partner organisations to achieve a thriving, nature-rich wetland landscape.

You will join Somerset Wildlife Trust’s experienced team of dedicated and professional land managers in one of the most biodiverse counties of England and will work closely with contractors and dedicated volunteers.

You should be able to meet the physical demands of the role, willing to work flexibly and possess the necessary ‘tickets’ and/or certificates to operate a range of machinery and equipment. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team and will also have the energy and enthusiasm to organise and motivate teams of volunteers. Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence is essential.
