Dark Skies Project Officer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person committed to high quality landscapes in Cumbria and to the ethos of the Friends of the Lake District. You will lead our work to develop and implement Friends of the Lake District’s project on Dark Skies.
You will have good written and communication skills and the ability to influence others, proven track record of project development and knowledge and understanding of rural issues and conservation policy.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Duration of contract: This a temporary post for 3 years (0.5 full-time equivalent) to be reviewed at 6 months.
Hours of work: These, as well as the pattern of days, are to be negotiated with the relevant line manager. Normal working hours at Friends of the Lake District are 9am to 5pm (including a one hour unpaid lunch break) normally within Monday to Friday. The post may require some weekend working. Friends of the Lake District operate both a Time off in Lieu and a flexi-time system for employees.
Salary for the post: £13,459 0.5 part time (£26,918 f.t.e.)
Normal place of work: Friends of the Lake District Offices, Murley Moss, Kendal
Commencement of post: Friends of the Lake District hope that the selected candidate will be available to start as soon as possible but acknowledge that individual circumstances may have to be taken into account.
Holiday entitlement: This will be 25 days per year plus bank holidays (pro rata according to the post).
