Marine Wildlife Guide

Sealife Adventures are looking for excellent public speakers for marine wildlife trips in the Firth of Lorne Special Area of Conservation (near Oban, Scotland). The area is exceptional for porpoise, minke whales, dolphins, basking sharks, otters and seals. Bird watching highlights include sea eagles, golden eagles, puffins and a variety of seabirds.

We run 3-5 hour family friendly wildlife boat trips and are rated 5* TripAdvisor.

You must be friendly, enthusiastic and willing to learn more about the wildlife in the area. You must be able to give loud, clear, interesting presentations on wildlife, be happy to do all types of jobs, and work efficiently unsupervised at times. You must also be observant, not only in spotting wildlife but also in recognising the needs of our guests.

The work is varied, and includes giving talks, spotting and recording wildlife. It also involves maintaining our website and social media, video editing, general crewing duties, cleaning and helping to maintain our boat, pontoon and properties. You need to be fit, but not necessarily strong and always be cheerful even on the occasional rainy days we get in Scotland.

Previous experience in recognising cetaceans, raptors and seabirds of this area is desirable but not essential.

Although diving is not part of the job there may be opportunities for private diving.

The job starts asap and finishes mid November. There is a bonus scheme and potential for a permanent position and growth within the company.
