Outreach Education Officer (Maternity Cover)

Salary c.£24,000 pa pro rata; part-time 14 hours per week (maternity cover); primarily based at Curdridge, near Botley, Hampshire

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, organised and committed individual to join our Education and Engagement Team.  This part-time post will take the lead on supporting and co-ordinating our volunteer-led Wildlife Watch and Tots groups, including support visits, organising training and supporting the development of new groups.  The post will also provide supervisory support for our non-Education Centre based Outdoor Learning Tutors (OLTs), including identifying new outreach opportunities and leading on recruitment of new OLTs, plus promoting and administering our Wildlife School Club to schools and compiling the quarterly school e-newsletter.

It is essential that applicants have experience of working with volunteers and delivering environmental education in an outreach setting.  We are seeking someone with proven supervisory, planning and organisational skills that can engage and motivate volunteers and sessional contract staff.  If you are passionate about the natural world and committed to finding ways of engaging children, their families and schools, we would like to hear from you.
