Projects & Organisational Support Officer

For over 50 years, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas.  The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. The Trust manages a network of 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement.

The Projects and Organisational Support Officer (POSO) is a new role which will provide high level co-ordination and support for the development and implementation of a number of projects whilst also supporting the collation of strategic reporting on the charities’ wider activities and impact.

Reporting to the Head of Development, the POSO will work closely with a wide range of Trust staff and will be instrumental in preparing new project budgets, developing effective information gathering processes, and organising staff training. The POSO will provide the secretariat to an internal Projects Excellence Team facilitating a strategic overview of projects at all stages – planned, in delivery and completed.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and team working skills, be highly organised and methodical, and be educated to degree level or have relevant work experience. As well as having excellent IT skills (Excel, Word), they will be familiar with accountancy/budgetary processes.  The ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges is essential.  Knowledge and understanding of key conservation issues would be an advantage.
