Senior Ecologist
We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join the Nature Based Solutions team in our Nature Recovery Directorate.
You will deliver positive conservation outcomes through high-quality ecological surveys, reports and practical land management advice to stakeholders and clients. You will develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and support the wider Nature Recovery team with the delivery of commercial services to supplement the Trust’s finances and build financial resilience.
The role is perfect for those who have an interest in wildlife conservation and are wanting to apply their practical ecological skills to improve our understanding of the natural world and help make a real difference on the ground. We welcome applications from ecologists looking to make the next step in their career.
The ideal candidate will have strong field survey skills including botanical identification, protected species, UK Habitat classification and Defra condition assessment. Be proficient in the delivery of technical reports and advice as well as confident in the use of Natural England’s Statutory Biodiversity Metric. An understanding of GIS and strong all round IT skills are essential (while ArcGIS is preferred, candidates showing proficiency with other similar mapping software will be considered).

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) however, part-time hours will be considered.
