Summer Canal Restoration Volunteer

Waterway Recovery Group is excited to launch its schedule of fun-filled, canal restoring volunteering holidays for 2017! WRG’s week-long holidays, called Canal Camps, offer a unique opportunity to volunteer and learn new skills, whilst exploring amazing parts of Britain’s industrial heritage.  WRG have 28 Canal Camps planned for 2017 on 13 different canal restoration sites, offering volunteers the chance to rebuild a weir on the North Walsham & Dilham Canal in Norfolk, restore a lock on the Cotswold Canals, or repair a canal basin on the Stover Canal in Devon.

Volunteering with WRG is a great experience for anyone who loves being outdoors and enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and of different ages (18+). WRG offers volunteers a fantastic chance to learn new skills such as bricklaying; stone walling; machine operation and restoration techniques!

Each week costs £70 which includes food and accommodation.  Volunteers need no previous experience; all they require is a willingness to get involved and a good sense of fun.
