Terrestrial Conservation Officer and Reserve Warden
Do you have a passion for conservation and the outdoors? We are looking for someone to take on the role of Terrestrial Conservation Officer and Reserve Warden here on Ascension Island. You will be the Warden for Green Mountain, Ascension Island’s national park, as well as other protected areas, and will be responsible for helping to maintain the unique wildlife and flora that calls Ascension Island home. Working with the conservation department you will develop and implement strategies to manage the island’s protected areas and ensure the survival of Ascension’s most threatened native species. You must be resilient and adaptable in order to thrive in a challenging environment. The successful applicant will need to be capable of working autonomously as well as part of the wider conservation team. This role requires someone who is able to deal with tourists to enhance the reputation of the Ascension Island Government, as well as to educate island workers in the importance of conserving the island’s heritage and wildlife.
You should have a degree in Environmental Management (or a related subject) and be able to operate the required machinery, as well as a clean driving licence, necessary to carry out the duties of the Reserve Warden.
We are offering a two year, single status, contract with a salary of £12,000 per year (taxable in Ascension). You will also receive the following benefits:

- One mid-contract return journey to your country of recruitment
- A gratuity payable on completion of a two year contract

This appointment will be subject to satisfactory:
