Unpaid Education Volunteer Placement – Winchester

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading nature conservation charity in the two counties.  For more than 50 years we have protected wildlife and inspired others to love nature.

We are looking for someone keen to enter a career in conservation based education to support our Education team at our Winchester Nature Reserves for six months from March 2017.  The successful applicant will assist with

  • delivery of environmental education to groups and visitors at Winnall Moors and St Cross Nature Reserves under the supervision of the Education staff,
  • day to day programme administration, helping to develop and promote the education and interpretation of the wildlife reserve.

The post will be unpaid, but you will be provided with in-house training and gain a wealth of experience in this area of work.  You are asked to make a commitment to volunteering with the Trust over a six-month period (ideally 4 days per week), but the specific details of this can be negotiable.

Due to the nature of the work this role is for over 18s only holding a valid driving license and access to transport. Also subject to a DBS check.

Duration: Six months from March 2017; Ideally 3 days per week

Location:  Winnall Moors and St Cross Nature Reserves, Winchester, Hampshire.
