We are seeking 3 enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers aged 18+ to support in the delivery of the visitor engagement and gardening sides of the Trust’s exciting Green Heart Project in Cockington Country Park.
Placement skills and certificates for both placements include:
- Volunteer recruitment & management
- Event development, delivery & management
- First aid & experience in health & safety
- Office administration
For Visitor Engagement placements:
- Developing, delivering & evaluating environmental & heritage education
- Event marketing & advertising
- Ecological & surveying skills
For Gardening placement:
- Horticulture & countryside management within a country park
- Use of a range of powered tools which may include strimmers, brushcutters, mowers and chainsaws, with appropriate training
The successful candidates would ideally volunteer for around 30 – 37 hours per week including occasional evenings and weekends.
Volunteers will be provided with free accommodation on site at Cockington Country Park; (this consists of en-suite rooms in the newly refurbished Gamekeeper’s Cottage, with communal areas shared with other volunteers).
Our volunteer training placements allow individuals to get valuable hands on experience and on the job training from our experienced Education and Estate teams. The Trust’s programme has an excellent reputation with 90% of individuals who have completed their placement securing jobs in the environmental or education sector after their placement.
Applicants will be subject to a DBS check.
