West Norfolk Reserves Manager

We are looking for an individual to lead our West Norfolk Reserves management team to deliver our conservation objectives on some of the County’s premier nature reserves.

We can offer the West Norfolk Reserves Manager the support of a strong team that currently consists of the Reserves Manager (WNRM), an Assistant Reserves Manager, and two West Norfolk Reserves Assistants.  Volunteers are also an important and integrated part of the team.

The post involves leading a significant amount of practical conservation work as well as team management together with project planning and delivery. The post assists  NWT’s Senior Conservation Officer to formulate responses to external issues which may impact on the site.    The post is hands-on, managerial, administrative and scientific.  The practical habitat management work includes scrub management, bracken control and fen mowing, and also livestock management and species management.  The work involves overseeing and carrying out maintenance of machinery and infrastructure, species and environmental monitoring, managing contracts and contractors and some guiding of reserve walks.
