Community Outreach Volunteer

The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! This is an opportunity to work in a small friendly team. You will gain useful experience of working for an environmental charity and the warm happy feeling that comes with helping save our amazing wildlife

Help us help our local community, by spreading the word about RSPB Sandwell Valley, and leading fun activities! We are looking for volunteers to help us reach out to local people and share their love of nature. You will attend local venues (museums, children’s farms etc.) and community events, as part of a small team. You’ll be chatting to people, inspiring them about nature and RSPB Sandwell Valley. You’ll deliver fun nature-inspired crafts or activities such as making bee homes or leaf crowns, bird bingos and scavenger hunts.

This is a great chance to learn specifically about the importance of people in wildlife conservation; a chance to look at the bigger picture and see how whole communities can help save nature.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with a ready smile. You’ll enjoy striking up conversations with people and passing on your passion for nature and wildlife (don’t worry you don’t have to be an expert).

We don’t expect you to be working on your own, you’ll be with staff or volunteers; and we will travel to outreach events together.

Some of the community outreach work might include visits to youth clubs, so experience working with children is important.
