Inspiring People Voluntary Trainee
With a thriving education and events calendar Yorkshire Wildlife Trust delivers a wide range of activities throughout the year at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve; including school visits, family activity days and workshops for the public. We are looking for a voluntary trainee to gain experience with the Inspiring People team and help to deliver our diverse formal & informal engagement programme on site. This is a great opportunity to develop skills in environmental education and people engagement; particularly the planning, marketing and delivery of a wide range of education and family events.
Voluntary trainees in this role develop communication skills while delivering school sessions, workshops, talks and family activities. They also learn how to manage our team of Inspiring People volunteers who also lead activities and inspire the public to connect with nature. As well as the skills developed through delivering activities trainees also learn how to market, plan and create inspiring activities for a wide range of audiences. Voluntary trainees are expected to use their organisational skills to manage their volunteering time, and maintain basic office skills such as using outlook, attending meetings and working with internal and external partners.

This role is for 12 months, for 3 days a week and comes with a competitive training budget and travel expenses. The role is based at our Potteric Carr Nature Reserve near Doncaster and will start in early March 2018.
