Inspiring People Voluntary Trainee- Spurn (Events and Education)
Would you like a career in environmental education and spend your days teaching people about the wonders of nature?
We have an amazing new opportunity for an Inspiring People Voluntary Trainee to join the team at Spurn to learn and gain valuable experience whilst assisting with the delivery of our education and events programme.
Spurn National Nature Reserve is an inspiring and informative place to visit that provides an excellent setting for education sessions and public engagement events. With the completion of the Spurn Discovery Centre we have had a significant increase in visitor numbers and schools using the centre and site for enjoyment and study. We have a fantastic offer for a wide variety of interests from natural history, maritime study and military history. To help us reach people and engage with visitors and guests to Spurn, we have a dedicated education space in the Discovery Centre and also at our finger tips, or under our boots is the reserve itself; the lighthouse, varied habitats, layers of history and wildlife galore.
If you have bags of enthusiasm, enjoy working with people of all ages and want to be part of this exciting phase of a national nature reserve’s development, then we’d like to hear from you.
The role is for 6 months and will be 3 days a week, with some potential weekend availability. This will ideally be a residential placement with accommodation provided close to the reserve or onsite with all utility bills paid.
A driving license is essential for this role as Spurn is a remote location with little public transport and you will also need to be able to drive YWT vehicles to get around the site.
The role comes with a competitive training budget and access to our internal training plan.
