Llyn Parc Mawr Community Woodland Group

Would you like to join a team of people in helping to maintain and enhance a 24 hectare area of woodland which is home to a red squirrel population. Practical work  would include cutting back/removing invasive species, planting trees, coppicing, general woodland maintenance. Non-practical work is also available – admin work, fundraising. The volunteer tasks are designed to benefit the environment and establish Llyn Parc Mawr as a sustainable woodland area to benefit wildlife and contribute to the well-being of the community.

Headline – We manage a woodland, provide social events for the local community and activities for children.

Purpose – We aim to enhance the bio-diversity of Llyn Parc Mawr, an area of woodland in Anglesey which is home to a thriving red squirrel population. We have a group of dedicated and committed volunteers following a structured 10 year management plan. We also provide many events in the woodland for the local and wider community, including educational events such as Forest School sessions for children.

Benefit to the community – Many people already use the woodland for walking, it is our hope to encourage more people to use the outdoor space and through working together to build a sense of ownership and create bonds to strengthen communities.
