Local lead volunteer- Seeds to trees

Join us on this exciting new pilot project.

We are looking or a volunteer to coordinate¬†local Seeds to Tree’s volunteers to support us in the role out of a pilot project which involves the trialling of growing trees from seed with schools, community groups and local residents. Other volunteers will be recruited in the Debenham area to support you with this pilot.

This project is based on an initial pilot we held at Langley Vale Wood in Epsom, Surrey in 2016/7, where we involved over 2000 school children and local people in growing more than 5000 saplings in recycled milk cartons.

As the Local Lead Volunteer you will be coordinating other volunteers and partners to deliver a project activity of giving seeds away, assisting with sowing them and their ongoing care, and eventually helping with community planting events once the saplings have grown.

There may also be the opportunity to help deliver seed collection days for the project area, with local people being able to collect seed from a site and plant them at home straight away.

You will be trained and supported on site by volunteers involved in the Langley Vale pilot project.
