Nature Tourism Social Media Content Creator
Can you help us lift the lid on the UKs best kept wildlife secret?
We’re on a quest to put East Yorkshire on the map as top UK wildlife watching destination! There aren’t many places where you can see puffins, whales, dolphins, otters, kingfishers and seals so easily – and all within close proximity to each other. From the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, to the dramatic chalk cliffs of the coast and the mighty Humber Estuary, East Yorkshire really does have so much to offer.
The ‘Yorkshire Nature Triangle’ has been created to bring together East Yorkshire’s nature reserves and wildlife viewing opportunities. The triangle concept also marks out the geographical area from Flamborough Head, down to Spurn Point and across the Yorkshire Wolds. To encourage people to visit region – and potentially stay – we have created a series of itineraries to bring together all the ‘must sees’ of each season in one place. We are now looking for dynamic video-based content to help promote these ‘Wild Days’, ‘Wild Weekends’ and ‘Wild Weeks’. Content created will also be used on Yorkshire Wildlife Trust channels and shared with other organisations involved in the Yorkshire Nature Triangle project.
What will you be doing?
You will be combining your creative flair with your practical photography/filming/editing/animation skills to create a series of short videos to use on our social media platforms. Using our seasonal guides as a starting point, you will turn our ‘Wild Day’, ‘Wild Weekend’ and ‘Wild Week’ itineraries into fun and engaging videos that will be inspiring, yet feel attainable, for our potential visitors.
One day, you might be out and about across East Yorkshire capturing footage to reflect the current season, and the next, editing some existing Yorkshire Nature Triangle footage to present it in a new way. Ideally being based in East Yorkshire, you’ll easily be able to capture ‘of the moment’ photos and content from frosty mornings to serene sunsets – and help us share what’s offer in the Yorkshire Nature Triangle right now! You’ll be capturing the small yet charming details as well as the wider wonders the area has to offer.
You will work closely with the Nature Tourism and Communications Team to share ideas and plan the content for the Yorkshire Nature Triangle own Facebook and Twitter profiles.
(NB. The role does not involve managing social media accounts. The focus is on creating content for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust teams to use).
