North Cave Wetlands Reserve Voluntary Trainee

As the North Cave Wetlands Voluntary Trainee you will join the Reserves Programme Manager, helping with site management and administrative tasks, practical habitat management, plus have the opportunity to lead community and educational events and visits. Much of this will take place at North Cave Wetlands; however there will also be opportunities to get involved with tasks happening across our other reserves in the area.
The role will be split between office-based tasks and practical habitat conservation work at North Cave Wetlands, other reserves in the area but with most time spent out and about at our nature reserves. You will develop skills and gain experience carrying out habitat management activities for example; invasive species removal, meadow management, surveying and monitoring, and a variety of other jobs. Tasks often involve working with local volunteers to manage sites and part of the role will include leading volunteer groups in practical activities.
Office-based work could include researching, writing and developing management plans, preparing and supervising contract works, writing small funding bids, fielding queries, as well as other reserves administration.
The role is for 12 months, for 3 days a week, come with a competitive training budget and travel expenses.
