Soak It Up Project Voluntary Trainee x 2

Ever heard of SuDS?

If you haven’t, don’t worry as not many people have so we’re on a mission to teach people all about Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) with our fantastic new project- Soak It Up! We’re proud to be delivering this engaging new project in partnership with Yorkshire Water, through the project we will deliver a programme of events and practical works with schools across north and south Yorkshire that will life the profile of SuDs.

As a Soak It Up Voluntary Trainee you will be involved in project delivery, that will help young people to understand the reality of the urban water cycle and how small interventions can help improve drainage and take pressure out of our existing drainage systems.

There are two roles available, one based in York and the second in Doncaster. You’ll be out and about lots visiting schools, and setting up events and practical works to deliver at the schools that want to take part in the project. This is a unique opportunity where you will get to learn all the aspects associated with project management and delivery, learn about SuDs and how to implement changes that can have a positive effect for people, wildlife and drainage systems.

Both roles are for 6 months, for 2-3 days a week (flexible with the needs of the voluntary trainee), come with a competitive training budget and travel expenses.
