Spurn Cafe Volunteer

Why do we need this volunteer?

We are looking for volunteers at the NEW Spurn Discovery Centre to refuel our visitors with tasty treats from our cosy and friendly café. If you enjoy talking to people and like helping them find the perfect snack, drink or gift then our Café volunteer role would suit you. You’ll be first port of call to many of our visitors, so as well as serving up tea and a bacon sandwich you’ll be there to point them in the right direction of the lighthouse or even tell them about bicycle hire! Whatever assistance you are providing to our visitors you’ll definitely want to make sure every person has a special day at Spurn.

What will the volunteer be doing?

  • Serving customers & taking food orders
  • Using the till & handling cash
  • Food preparation
  • Clearing pots and washing up
  • Customer interaction – talking to people about their visit and the aims of the Trust

Come and meet the team at an Open Day on Saturday 23rd March at the Discovery Centre Spurn. It’s our one year anniversary since we opened the new centre to the public and we’ll be holding an open day to celebrate. We’ll be combining the celebrations with the opportunity for anyone thinking of volunteering at Spurn to drop in and speak to us and some of our existing volunteers. The event will be running 11am until 3pm, so please come by and find out how you can get involved!
