Spurn Discovery Centre Volunteer
Spurn is one of our most iconic sites which never fails to amaze visitors as there’s so much on offer to appeal to the senses. With big, open blue skies to give a sense of space; sandy beaches to scour for shells, fossils and scrunch your toes in! History and heritage, for those who have one foot in the past, plus plenty of wildlife to cross your path as you explore the wonders of Spurn! Families, wildlife enthusiasts, history buffs and all types of people are drawn to Spurn and we hope to engage with as many people as possible to ensure they have a memorable time. The gateway to all this will be the innovative new Discovery Centre, the centre has just been built to provide a state of the art visitor reception area, retail offer and a café selling fresh homemade food.
Volunteers in the Discovery Centre will be the first port of call for our visitors and you’ll be ready and waiting to tell people about what they can expect to see & do on their visit and tell them about the work we do. You’ll be a great people person, enjoy communicating with everyone and sharing your passion and enthusiasm for wildlife, and Spurn’s other heritage with them.
You will serve customers as they buy items from the shop, answer any questions they have and take any feedback about their visit. To further the work we do, you will encourage visitors to support Yorkshire Wildlife Trust through memberships.
If you enjoy being part of a lively team and want to be part of the exciting new developments at Spurn, we’d love to hear from you.
