Vehicle Maintenance Volunteer

What will you be doing?

  • Year round routine maintenance is carried out on Martin Mere centre vehicles including, weekly checks of tractors and road vehicles and washing all vehicles inside and out
  • Oil, grease and tyres to be checked and topped up where required following vehicle manuals and MM check sheets.
  • There may be days when the vehicles are in use, in this case the candidate would be expected to carry out any other duties as assigned by the Grounds manager.

Who are we looking for?

This role would suit you if:

  • You have experience and knowledge of maintaining vehicles and machinery
  • You have a confident approach to maintenance
  • You are able to work independently
  • You are able to communicate effectively within a small team
  • As nearly all our volunteering roles take place in view of the public, we need  people who are committed to good customer service and are willing to engage our visitors with the work of WWT
  • A driving licence is essential as there will sometimes be the need to use trust vehicles on site.
