Visitor Research & Evaluation Volunteer

Connecting with visitors who spend time at our nature reserves is a crucial part of our work – it enables us to inspire people to take action for wildlife and gain support for our vital conservation work. Visitors share lots of details and opinions about their experiences online including on TripAdvisor, Facebook and Google. We are looking for someone to help collate and review this feedback so we can identify areas for  development and celebrate our successes.

You will be working closely alongside the Visitor Experience Manager and Digital Communications Officer at our offices in York. There will be an initial task of logging information from a history of visitor reviews where you will be looking for trends and common themes within their feedback. Secondly, you will help us create a system to help keep our monitoring up-to-date. It is a desk-based role and largely admin-based, however it’s an opportunity to get involved in, and help shape, a project from the beginning.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys organising and analysing information. It will also provide hands-on experience for someone interested in marketing, digital media and customer services.

Essential skills for this role:

  • We are looking for someone who is confident being online and navigating websites.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Word and Excel will be key to list and organise information.
  • Being familiar with an office environment would be an advantage.
  • It would be an added bonus if you have previously been involved with review sites or visitor feedback, as we would love to learn from your experience.

We want to create visitor experiences that are unique, memorable and of a consistently high quality. You will help us by helping us to hear back from our visitors about these experiences and collating this information so that we can put the feedback to good use. This will help us to connect with more people, encourage more support and help us to create a Yorkshire richer in wildlife for everyone.
