Volunteer Facilitator – Education and Events
Why we want you
We want to make our volunteering experience the best it can be, so that together we can save nature!
We need someone creative and organised to co-ordinate our events and education volunteers- who are out and about helping us deliver schools outreach, nature workshops, and various awareness raising events.
You will be the central point of information distributed to our volunteers- informing them of opportunities and news. As well as this, you will help us to communicate about our volunteering opportunities, within our teams and to the wider public, through newsletters and blog posts.
If you are passionate about volunteering, and making a difference to our work with nature, then this could be for you!
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, and developing projects under their own initiative. You will work closely with and be a valued member of the team in the Edinburgh office
What’s in it for you?
Be part of our friendly team and be involved in our work engaging with the public to save nature.
Whether you have experience of working with volunteers before, or want to gain this experience- This is a great opportunity to make a difference to our public engagement.
You will receive support and training in the role, and friendly colleagues to bounce ideas off. This is a great opportunity to gain an insight into the work of the RSPB, and how we manage volunteering. Whether you are looking for a new direction, or to develop your skills- this is a great way to gain experience.
The skills you need
Bags of enthusiasm for volunteering and nature
Excellent communication skills
An interest in writing internal and external communications
Excellent organisational skills
A positive and friendly team player.
Minimum commitment: 1week day per week but we have plenty of flexibility

The RSPB is the UK charity working to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife, helping to create a better world for all of us. We belong to BirdLife International, the global partnership of bird conservation organisations.
Your time and skills could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB and it would be great if you could join us.
