Volunteer Livestock Monitor

Rare fungi and wildlife thrive in Ashenbank Wood, a Site of Specific Scientific Interest, which includes ancient woodland, former wood pasture and some great archaeological features. Through their selective grazing habits, cattle help to both manage and retain diversity within certain areas of the site, allowing it to gradually develop as a haven for wildlife.

With a team of other volunteer livestock monitors, we need volunteers to regularly walk the site, account for the whereabouts and general health of the animals, reporting updates, concerns or problems to the site manager.

This role is best suited to someone living within 30 miles of the site.
