Wildlife Explorers Main Leader

At the RSPB we are passionate about young people and about nature. Our youth groups have the potential to play a really important role in local communities offering young people regular opportunities to get to know the wild places close to them and to be supported by enthusiastic adult volunteers. Our youth groups are fun, keep young people engaged and interested; enable them to discover and learn new things; social so they feel part of the bigger picture and empowering to motivate them to help us save nature.

We are looking for [an] enthusiastic individual[s] to inspire the next generation and run/help run games and activities for our Wildlife Explorer group at to encourage them to explore nature and develop a concern for the future. This group meets on the first Saturday of each Month 10-11am and is for young people aged 5 – 8 years.

You need to enjoy and have experience of working with young people, but you don’t have to be an expert on birds, plants or any other sort of wildlife. An interest in the natural world helps, but you just need energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. You need to be able to lead/work well with a team of other volunteers and communicate well with all ages.
