Woodland Warden at Ruffett and Big Wood – Coulsdon, Surrey

We are looking for a Woodland Warden at Ruffett and Big Wood to support the site manager in monitoring the condition of the wood, reporting any damage, maintenance issues, incidents and also noting interesting wildlife. You will be our eyes and ears on the ground and your role will contribute towards the Woodland Trust’s strategy of protecting, restoring and creating woods and trees for the benefit of people and wildlife across the UK.

Ruffett & Big Wood is situated on the north-west outskirts of Coulsdon, within the town’s Greenbelt, surrounded on four sides by open space. The wood comprises two blocks – Ruffett Wood to the northeast and Big Wood to the southwest, joined at one corner.

You will have an understanding of the needs of the public and native wildlife, a genuine interest in conservation and woodlands and a reasonable degree of physical fitness.
