What are we here to do? The remit of our work is set out in our Statutory Purposes and Statutory Duty. In summary these are to protect the natural beauty of the Park; to help visitors enjoy and understand it; and to foster the wellbeing of local people.

How do we see the future of the National Park? We have a clear vision for the National Park for the next 20 years. This sets the scene for all our strategic documents.

Who does the work? The Park is administered by a special National Park Authority made up of 24 members, over 130 staff and our volunteers.
