The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) at the University of Reading is one of the leading organisations delivering whole organism and biomolecular teaching and research. It is situated within a 120ha campus that is mostly managed for biodiversity and includes a variety of beautiful habitats, such as flowering grasslands, semi-natural mixed woodland and lakes. The campus provides an unrivalled natural laboratory where students of ecology, zoology and wildlife management are able to engage with and study natural history and species interactions. The school is equipped with modern, high specification laboratories and associated facilities to serve students of biomedicine, biochemistry and microbiology. SBS is home to over 40 academics, approximately 100 PhD students, 50 MSc students and 600 undergraduate students. As such it offers students an exciting and vibrant destination where they can study, learn and engage with the research effort.
