Volunteer Assistant Ranger (seabirds)
We are looking for up to 4 volunteer assistant rangers (focusing on seabird fieldwork) to work with the Handa Ranger and a small close-knit team of volunteers to deliver visitor and conservation management on Handa Island wildlife reserve.
Roles would last for approximately 16 weeks from May until September.
There will be a mixture of roles such as:
Monitoring.
You will lead on:
- Carrying out population and productivity counts for kittiwake, fulmar, guillemot and razorbill;
- Writing up the seabird monitoring section of the seasonal report
Landing visitors and providing information
Path maintenance
Other practical duties such as beach cleaning, maintaining the accommodation and its water system
Free accommodation & reimbursement of expenses provided.
